Sid Worsham

Sid Worsham is an oil painter based in Asheville that primarily paints food with bright colors to highlight the joys of eating home cooked meals.

They call their collection of work “The Painted Farmers Market”. Their work often consists of lots of repetition of things like grocery store aisles and produce; things you probably see all the time and don’t think of as inspiration. However with the use of neon highlights and colorful shadows, everyday scenes become something to be appreciated and looked at through a different lens.

Sid was a junior in college in 2022 when they got the original inspiration for “The Painted Farmers Market” from the local farmers market across the street from where they lived. Once hooked on how fun food is to paint, they never looked back. When you can’t find Sid in the studio they are usually at the grocery store collecting ingredients for reference pictures while getting strange glares for taking dozens of pictures of the aisles.
